Route type: combined – by car/organized transportation and on foot. The route is suitable for any age group, both for organized groups and individual visitors. It fascinates with its natural beauty and cultural and archaeological sites.
Season: almost all year round except during periods of snow and strong wind.
Arrival in Dobrich. A tour of the monuments of Despot Dobrotitza and Khan Asparukh. Arrival in the center – parking lot of House Memorial “Yordan Yovkov”. A walking tour of the central pedestrian zone. The first site is the House Memorial “Yordan Yovkov” – one of the 100 National Tourist Sites of Bulgaria. Here you can see a permanent museum display that presents the life and work of the writer. The route continues with a visit to the Museum in the “Saint George” City Park, where is displayed the exhibition “Dobrudzha’s Nature”. The museum is housed in the former casino building in Dobrich, while the park is one of the oldest in the country and an example of landscape gardening of cultural value. What follows is a visit to the House Museum “Yordan Yovkov” – a cultural heritage site of national significance. It recreates the environment in which the writer lived and worked. Naturally, the route then leads us to the Ethnographic House, which presents the life of the Dobrudzhans at the border of two eras and to the Revival Period church “Saint George”. The next site is the Art Gallery – one of the 100 National Tourist Sites of Bulgaria and a museum of fine arts, holding a rich collection of works by Bulgarian artists – paintings, graphics and sculptures. The same building houses the museum collection “Icons from the National Revival Period from Dobrudzha”. The route ends with a visit to the Open-Air Architectural and Ethnographic Museum “Old Dobrich”, whose exhibition hall presents the display “Dobrudzha’s Archeology” and the educational museum, which is a partial reconstruction of the old Revival Period school.
Optional: visit to the Military Cemetery – the largest military cemetery in Bulgaria from the First World War, where lay 3 000 soldiers from six national armies and four religious denominations and the “Holy Trinity” church.

Visit to the “Yailata” Archaeological Reserve. Departure to Cape Kaliakra. Guided tour in the “Kaliakra” Archaeological and Natural Reserve – one of the 100 National Tourist Sites. Departure to Kavarna. An afternoon walking tour in Kavarna. Visits to the History Museum, the hamam, which houses the display “Dobrudzha and the Sea”, the Art Gallery and the Ethnographic House. Departure to Balchik. Overnight in Balchik.
A morning walking tour in Balchik, with visits to the History Museum, the Ethnographic House and the Art Gallery. Going by a vehicle to the “Horizont” neighborhood. Visit to the National Revival Period Complex with the Orthodox church “Saint Nicholas” and the mutual instruction school and the antiquity and medieval fortress. Visit to the Architectural and Park Complex “The Palace” with a guided tour.
